There’s more movement in the Cartell.ie Killarney International Rally Aaron Machale has leaped frogged Alastair Fisher into 2nd place and with only 1.1 seconds between them it comes down to judgement time do they settle for the positions their in, or push on to claim 2nd spot. This has its perils for Fisher, if he finishes in  3rd position he will leave Killarney as the leader of the Citroen Irish Tarmac Championship with three rounds remaining. Alastair could push for 2nd place but might end up with nothing if he puts the rally car off the road

Update 14:39 – More Dramatic News

After the demise of rally leader Tim McNulty on stage 12 Shanera, this stage is becoming the cat among the pigeons as it has also claimed the leader of the National section Phil Collins, there is no report as to why Phil has not come to the end of stage 12 but first reports are it was a mechanical problem. This promotes Barry Meade into the lead of the National section of the Cartell.ie Killarney International Rally with Edward O’Callaghan 2nd overall and Vincent O’Shea moving to 3rd.

Update 14:31 – Dramatic Changes

Dramatic changes at the top of the Cartell.ie Killarney International Rally. The Rally leader from stage one Tim McNulty has stopped on stage 12  Shanera with mechanical problems. This leaves Southern 4 Champion Denis Cronin with a 24 second lead over Alastair Fisher who is 3 seconds ahead of Aaron MacHale, with just two stages remaining Caragh Lake and Rockfield.

Update 13:23 – The National Section

In the National section of the cartell.ie International Rally of the Lakes, Phil Collins again record a fastest time, 5 seconds up on Barry Meade. Ed O’Callaghan remains 3rd overall in the Nationals . Vincent O’Shea is 4th  in his Escort Cosworth. Washington James lost some time when a rose joint in his Darrian rear suspension came adrift and the right rear wheel is out of alignment and he is finding it hard to control the Car. Damien McCarthy in his Civic has moving into 5th overall in the nationals.

Update 12:37 – DASH 4 D CASH

In the battle of the Citroen Rallying Trophy dash for the cash just one second separates Marty McCormack and Robert Barrable. Marty had a couple of huge spins on the Caragh lake stage which allowed Robert to gain 23 seconds in one stage . Shane Buckley who is lying 3rd in the Citroens got his power steering problem fixed before the Caragh Lake stage and set a very good time, just 2 seconds off Barrable’s time. The €20,000 is not yet safe in the bank for either drivers so who will be buying the drinks tonight is anyones guess but everyone is welcome to come to the Gleneagle Hotel tonight to help them spend the 20G

Update 10:38 – Stage (A)

The first stage of Sunday morning Shanera rally leader Tim McNulty, showed the following pack that he was not going for a Sunday drive by being 3 seconds quickest from Aaron MacHale and Denis Cronin and Alastair Fisher was only 6 seconds slower than the Rally leader McNulty. Brian O’Mahoney in the wee Renault Clio has fought his way up the leader board to be placed 8th overall and beating bigger more powerful rally cars.

Sunday’s event has 3 stages Shanera, Caragh Lake and Rockfield covered twice and the Currow Ross stage will only be driven once. The mart will be the centralised service area in the village of Milltown, before the winner will climb the top step of the podium outside the Gleneagle hotel Killarney.
